NOTES ON THE UPGRADE AUDIO SOURCE (LB-6919/CC 452-53):
LB-notes: BOOTLEG: Madison Square Garden; cd > ultraplex > eac > wav > flac; Crystal Cat CC 452-53; +various filler; drop/cut between cdrs

Monicasdude notes: DEEP: The finale of the MSG residency, in the razor sharp, crisp sound that we've come to expect from prior Cat releases. While not the best show, the sound is outstanding with all instruments ringing true and bubbling perfectly just under Bob's impeccable roar. What sets this one apart are the carefully selected and well-chosen bonus tracks. Further plaudits to the artwork, design and 2 booklets containing beautiful color pics taken from the show. Gorgeous package.

Disc editor's note: Sound is excellent but original editor cut applause between some songs necessitating cuts in video to maintain a/v sync.

Amazing performances clear through, Dylan in high form, delivering almost every single lyric with great intentionality.
Top shelf video and audio sources. The primary video in particular, mostly head and shoulders shots, is really fine. Almost pro-quality, crisp and clear, great colors and black blacks.
Excellent editing and mixing of the video sources. Enough variety of long and close shots to keep it interesting, but the primary close shot source really shines.
Nothing quite like Dylan live in NYC. A DVD set like this captures some of that magic.
A dynamite DVDylan fan-made project.
Hat's off to all involved.

Total Time: 1:36:36:12
DASH-F average: 13.25/15 = A-

PERFORMANCE/HIGHLIGHTS/SPECIAL MOMENTS:
-riveting vocals and performance
-Dylan amused while singing the "She was workin’ in a topless place" verse of "Tangled Up In Blue"
-sensitive reading of "Mr. Tambourine Man"
-Amusing intros: Larry is "all the way from New York City"/Tony is a gourmet cook. "He can cook on that bass guitar?
-Larry's lead playing on "Highway 61 Revisited
-Bucky's mandolin playing on "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right"

Improvements over D822 & D052/D052.su:
-two new very good/excellent video sources so less need for stills
-three camera angles
-split into 2 discs for better bitrate & resolution

DISTANCE/POSITION: 4+/5- (VS 2 has effective close-ups; VS 1 has effective panning

AUDIO: 15 (excellent Crystal Cat)

FOCUS/COLOR/LIGHT/RESOLUTION: 14 (VS 1 & VS 2 are master; VS 3 1st gen)

EDITING: Editor tried to use as many close-ups from VS 2 as possible, especially when Dylan is singing; stills used to fill the few missing parts; video had to be cut before some songs to match cuts that had been made to the audio.

AVERAGE QUALITY = 53/60 13.25 A- (excludes Distance/Position)

PROS:
-excellent close-ups on VS 2
-effective panning on VS 1 & VS 3

CONS:
