coops2009 notes on MS-075
Third year for Bob at Hammersmith the band has changed an the songs have become longer. But out mans there again for the first night of the residency. A nice performance; a few notable bits, there is the funny mess up in Mr Tambourine Man after which Bob says he will be getting rid of Garnier (boy was he wrong there!) There is a stunning version of thin man here, well filmed, that is spoilt by a tape fault on the master right at the end, on thru "Broken" (care to fix this Yassas?). But all in all a good show

SOURCE AUDIO DETAILS
Sound upgraded with excellent (A-) LB-5882 (Legendary Taper A)
LB-5882, (75min+52min), LTA; cut before encore, legendary taper A, ?? -> portable DATrecorder - clone -> (digital transfer) m-audio delta, audiophile 2496 -> Wavelab -> tlh, I did not harm the sound of the recording in any way; bittorrent download 02/08; same recording as LB-1343 with similar wav and spectral view except levels slightly different; (did not listen to all of this); drop d2t5 8:11 in crowd

This sound upgrade is a definite improvement over D208 and D208.m, mainly due to the sterling sound of LB-5882 and the substitution of stills for the shaky/obstructed/missing parts. However, all the editing the editor could muster could not overcome the shaky camera, which often hampers the view. (The cameraman did his best, though, under less than ideal conditions.) The tape problem noted by coops2009 at the end of "Ballad of a Thin Man" was not as evident on the master as on D208, and there was no way to fix it anyway.

All in all, however, we're fortunate to have this representative of the 1993 Hammersmith run, and luckier still to have the sharing spirit of coops2009.
