Well, if this is worth the 4 stars the rating above shows, I'd sure hate to see a 1 star effort.
Poor, poor fare this. Screenshots show only half of it, the best half, dark picture, harsh colours, harsh features. The rest is a more distant band shot, even darker and harsher.
Continuous camera shake, and ally that with more or less constant tape flutter doesn't make for easy viewing. Shot through the bars of the balcony, so no heads to obstruct our view, but there's the bars themselves cutting off big bits of the picture now and then.
Yes, it's got a menu + chapters, and as a 'bonus' 10 minutes worth of dead video, minute and a half at the start, the rest at the end. Could have been, should have been, edited out.
Sound's passable enough.
And Bob himself ? he seems to take a while to get into it, Jokerman is just thrown out, no feeling, no anything. But then again, I can't think offhand of any Jokerman performance that's remarkable. The song itself ? seems to promise so much, yet delivers nothing.
Almost the complete concert, no intro and a couple of cuts, which is a real pity, this is one DVD I was wishing would stop long before even the half-way point was reached.
1 Star.
