NOTE FROM THE AUDIO TAPER (HIDE):
"I don’t want to upload my recordings on bittorrent sites anymore because a Japanese bootleg shop has sold most of my recordings. There are also many debates regarding me & my recordings at a Japanese SNS site. So, I don’t want to share with those people. But I will provide my recordings on these great DVD/BD projects!”
DVD PRODUCTION PROCESS:
Audio and video assets edited in iMovie 6.0.3; authored, multiplexed and burned to VIDEO_TS folder in iDVD 7.1.2 (Professional Quality 2-pass variable bit rate encoding)

DIFFERENCES & IMPROVEMENTS OVER SOURCE DVD:
-sound upgraded
-blacked out and compromised parts filled with stills
-different title & track menus
PERFORMANCE/HIGHLIGHTS/SPECIAL MOMENTS:
-effective mix of songs off of “Tempest,” “Shadows In The Night” and “Fallen Angels”
with only three earlier than the 90s
-strong vocals, especially “Pay In Blood” and “Melancholy Mood”
-Sexton looking very cool with shades on
-great harp on “She Belongs To Me”
-piano a plus on “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’” and “Duquesne Whistle”
-Dylan says “… domo arigato” (“… thank you very much”) in Japanese before announcing
the intermission
-a wistful “Why Try To Change Me Now” seems that Dylan identifies with it
-“Love Sick” seems a perfect summation given the themes of the love songs on “Shadows
In The Night” and “Fallen Angels”
-“Autumn Leaves” sung with great care
DISTANCE/POSITION: 14 (Left floor 10˙) (filmer very close to stage/good for shots of Dylan when stage front, but not so good when he’s behind the piano; camera stays close on Dylan with Herron & Sexton occasionally in picture behind him; Kimball and Recile unseen)
AUDIO: 15 (excellent Hide recording)
STEADINESS: 8 (rather jittery, especially at start and end of songs)
HEADS/OBSTRUCTIONS: 9 (piano hides all but Dylan’s head when he’s not standing)
FOCUS: 10 (reddish color; low light; focus fairly good)
EDITING: filmer probably hid camera between songs because screen is black at those times, so stills used for some transitions and all starts of songs; stills used for a few other compromised parts (see setlist details)
