Well it's Christmas Day. I woke up early and alone as my girl is over in bonnie Scotland. I quietly went about my chores in the scorching heat as my dog grinned at me from the shade. Having worked up a sweat and tallied my good fortunes during this great year I decided to have a rest and roll this DVD that originates from those same Scottish shores over a decade ago.

The first songs kick in and it is clear Bob is on song and this was a special night. After a couple of songs I am roaring at the television in a pale imitation of the Edinbrough crowd and the fellow who dominates with the yell of MOOOOORE MOOORRE after each song.

The chords of Simple Twist of Fate and the words send me into reflections of a long lost Christmas girl a few twists of fate ago. This version of the song is wonderful. Filming and performance spot on. I'd love to show it to everyone I know and convince them of the worth of this great artist. Perhaps they'd understand the incredible positive effect he has had on me through 1000s of performances like this. But - you have to find these things for yourself......

Tambourine Man finds Bob guitarless - adding a relatively rare vulnerability to the performance. It's the prayer it always has been - slow, tender and powerful. Masters of War is given a similar treatment - less anger and more sadness than usual. The perfromances go on and maintain the high the whole way through.

Jokerman is another highlight - what a great song and what a great performance. Slightly harder edge. i love the line ......'Half asleep beneath the stars with a small do licking your face....' yes man's best friend.!

If you don't have this DVD message me and I'll copy it for you. As Jim50 says this belongs on the Bootleg Series. But it's Christmas and you can get it as presnet from Zarf1 from this great site.

Oh well off to enjoy a family Christmas Dinner..... best wishes to you all! Thanks to the mighty filmer and sound recorder and those great people who share!!!

And Bob.... well he's still going strong.... 'God bless his mighty mighty heart'
