D386.su is a welcome addition to the somewhat under represented 1996 DVDs in circulation.
Video is fine, looks to be close to master: crisp focus and bright colors, well shot from the very back of the house. shakes are slight, especially considering the distance, and obstructions are none. There are no closeups, and Bob's hat is very big and very white. We do get lots of nice medium to long shots of the entire band in various combinations.
Audio is quite nice and expertly synced to the video, gaps and all.
This DVD author is doing some mighty fine soundupgrading and authoring. Of course many of us are big fans of the projector motif that is the signature of his menus. He also incudes nice titles as the films begin, and his work with stills and effects to fill gaps in existing video is wonderful. I am one consumer who REALLY appreciates the inclusion of the entire audio when possible, and the extra work that goes into making it fit.
Performances are a bit work-a-day, though competent throughout.
I cant help it: I like Silvio, and I think it often elevated the set, this night included. Mr. T Man also seems a bit higher on the commitment level from Mr. D, passionately up-sung vocals and a couple heartfelt guitar breaks here. A nice outing of One Too Many Mornings, a personal favorite. Dylan also clearly enjoys rocking out with young KWS. Some very sweet visits from fans on stage as the show ends, including Dylan giving away a harmonica.
Very nice stuff, well worth seeking out. Thanks to all involved.
