DIFFERENCES & IMPROVEMENTS TO D238.msu:
-filled off-target parts with stills & clips from alternate video sources
-different title & track menus
PERFORMANCE/HIGHLIGHTS/SPECIAL MOMENTS:
-great, varied setlist
-Dylan in great mood, often smiling and sometimes laughing
-cool standup bass slapping by Garnier on “Wait For The Light To Shine”
-a rather “countrified” sound on “Subterranean Homesick Blues” with a great back-beat
provided by Garnier and Keltner
-a lean and mean “Cry A While”
-crowd takes over singing chorus of “Hard Rain” when Dylan’s mic fails
-terrific harp on several songs, especially on “Mama, You Been On My mind”
-fine acoustic playing by Campbell, especially the tremolo technique on “Don’t Think
Twice, It’s All Right” and the picking on “Boots Of Spanish Leather”
-is that a James Brown statuette? (see Disc 2 title menu, screenshots and on MS-101
footage of “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat”)
DASH-F RATING FOR MS-180.mu2 (see Video Sources below for rating of other sources)
DISTANCE/POSITION: 9-14 (Center balcony about 7 rows back) (tough position behind bodies, so filmer had to use zoom to frame players between bodies and the rail so very limited panning; great closeups of guitar playing)
AUDIO: 15 (excellent NTE recording, LB-1491; some audience chatter during quieter songs; audio also had some applause cuts between songs that had to be matched by video cuts)
STEADINESS: 10 (frequently unsteady because filmer had to deal with bodies)
HEADS/OBSTRUCTIONS: 10 (bodies and rail get in the way forcing frequent zoom ins and outs)
FOCUS: 14 (color good but distance was probably beyond capacity of camera to achieve a sharp image so focus rather grainy; focus often had to re-adjust due to obstructions)
EDITING: filled cuts & unfocused parts with clips or stills from alternate camera sources; if not otherwise noted, stills are from MS-180; audio cuts had to matched by video cuts before several songs (see setlist details)

COOPS2009 NOTES FOR MS-180:
Remember even if you have some of the Daves films already that at best your copies will be 2 generations poorer than anything in the Masters series, so get em all.
These will be with original sound though many will feature as sound upgrades eventually with my two mates Yassou and Madhasse helping out.
COOPS2009 NOTES FOR MS-101:
Well! It has been a long time hasn't it?
I have travelled far and wide to find a camera that can play the remaining
12 shows from "The Ghost"
There may well be others to follow. The response has been somewhat mixed
on my crusade to get all this stuff digital. Some have come forward. I did not expect
some who said they would still haven't (you know who you are!). But, obviously it has to be up to the individual
suffice to say I will persevere.
ENJOY
This film has never previously been shared from the master.
COOPS2009 NOTES FOR MS-010:
This is part of my Masters Series these are those of my retired friend but others may follow. It will be a long series if we do them all
This will also be the last dvd for a week t0 give you chaps time to catch up. I already have the next 10 ready and waiting...
This one is a rag-bag of shorts, mostly shows my man got caught at basically.
The originals were shot on 3 formats
VHS-E30s, Super VHS and DV I am transferring the DVs first. All will be HQ mode so apologies that this creates extra discs but I am determined to preserve the quality as far as possible.
I am sorting tapes as I go they will not be in any particular order, and please don't request specific shows, this is a huge project which will be best tackled methodically.
Finally a word of thanks is owed to my generous friend for supplying them and my other very helpful friends who have aided in locating cameras and things and now left therby making all the work (and tapes!) possible. Well I don't sleep a lot anyways !!
LB NOTES FOR LB-5253:
bittorrent download 08/07
In 3-way comparison these are different recordings based on having different crowd at end of d1t4 with this being the warmest most natural sound making LB-253 sound harsh and hollow and cc LB-845 sound harsh; excellent sound [A].
Please retain this info file and its LB number as a marker for this lossless set
and if you spread it please list it in the description to avoid others getting duplicates.
