I really enjoyed this one, a very energetic Bob Dylan show very nicely captured, espcially considering the vintage.

Video is wholey unobstructed, very steady, and quite clear. Great camera work here, the videographer doesn't push the limits of the gear and filmed very nearly the entire performance. All shots are medium to long range with very nice pans and zooms capturing GE Smith and Dylan all the while, with rare glipses of the other players.

Audio is outstanding, I gotta say that there is a warmth to this analog mastered recording that digital sometimes lacks, especially in those early days of digital audio tape.
But I digress.

Authoring is excellent as usual: fully functional motion menus and great bonus material included. I do detect some problems with the a/v sync from time to time on this one. Distance, focus, and minimal shots of the drummer make it less noticeable, and it didn't stop me from enjoying the show.

I usually set out to limit these reviews to my impression of the product itself, but I rarely manage to do so. In this case, as has been noted by many, this is an outstanding performance. Perhaps a bit monodynamic, as has also been noted elsewhere concerning this particular band. I found that To Ramona was a notch above.

Recommended viewing. I feel a bit indulged saying so, but we have a great representation of this tour in our catalog, so this may not be first choice from the tour- I think my favorite is still D498.su - but this one is right up there.

Thanks always to the tapers, authors, and DVDylan.community.
