OK the Brothers Four are lame as could be, but Bobby and the Staple Singers make this DVD a MUST HAVE.

And the narrator, John Henry Faulk, is a legendary figure in the folk music world, not, as the above reviewed said, condescending. I believe Mr. Faulk was among those blacklisted during the 1950s: he also produced radio shows for CBS which included Woody Guthrie.

A time capsule of the folk scene in the early 60s, pre-Beatles. The obvious highlight is Bob performing his songs, and he plays them well. Otherwise, there's little else to mention about this disc, apart from the rare treat of seeing the great Staples Singers harmonize. Pity that Joan Baez didn't appear (with Bob). While the other performances are quaint, the narrator is an annoying hick who consistently talks down to the viewer. Interesting, but not essential.
