DISC D610.su
SOUND Very good throughout
IMAGE Camera steady with some use of zoom but relatively inactive - right front balcony position gives an unobstructed left half-profile shot of D with Jackson behind. Film is tired, poorly coloured (heavy on the browns) and (like Darth Vader) on the dark side.
RUNNING TIME 108 minutes - entire show, all songs complete
PERFORMANCE This band plays with less finesse than later ones will - Simple Twist suffers accordingly - and Bob’s singing in Two Soldiers is notably free-style. Still, despite carrying a cold and a bit of a slow start, he runs through an appealing set-line with increasing conviction.
HIGHLIGHTS (1) River Flow (2) Borderline (3) Desolation Row
COMMENT Bob’s in talkative mood tonight. Try guessing which song he says this about: Thanks ev’body! That's my rain forest song. Rain forests?? The rain forests of your mind...
