Author's Notes:

Back in 87 cameras were still in their infancy,, I was not sure whether it was a passing fad
Then I discovered it was possible to RENT a camera from "Radio Rentals" so with 2 like minded
mates we proposed to do just that. The camera was MASSIVE the batteries were almost a foot long an
weighed about 4lbs each and only lasted 40 mins ! I rented 3. Getting the gear in was going to
be quite a challenge. Some amazing things were tried. In the end it was decided to put the camera
in a shoulder bag with a long strap, one of us would put the bag on our back and go in wearing a cloak!
"K" looked like a weird hunchback, but it worked, however the weight of the camera pulled the strap
so tight round his neck that he was almost strangled! The batteries were taped to our legs which
meant we were walking like cripples!

Night one (14th) we cased the place an took nothing in.
But the next night we were there... Now I had never used this camera before apart from a brief fiddle
at home. I did not know it had a macro facility. So when I started to film the macro was "on" which
stopped me focusing in !! It took to Thin man to discover and correct the error. But we got the whole
show, I will never forget the feeling of elation when we left the Arena later! I think its maybe that
that keeps me involved all this time later.

Its not a great film, but its watchable and it was the first I was involved in.
We tried the same method on the 16th but got stopped going in. But we were there again on the 17th

My helpers were J and K J is still a mate but less involved. K and I worked together for a few years till
he discovered women! Maybe a story for another day
