COOPS2009 NOTES ON MS-107:
After a dodgy start this is quite watchable though a few tracks shame the venue is such a shed! This film has never previously been shared from the master in correct aspect ratio.

DVDYLAN NOTES ON D555.su:
"A Watchtower Upgrade"
Offmaster video, excellent quality. With 384 kbit mpeg audio from Crystal Cat recording.
It has been reported that this was filmed by the "Two Daves." According to reliable sources, it is not known who the taper was

DISC AUTHOR’S NOTE FOR D555.su:
Due to the fact that MS-107.msu is widescreen (16x9) aspect, and D555.su is standard (4:3) aspect, it was converted to widescreen to be compatible for this 2-cam edition.

LB NOTES FOR THE AUDIO:
excellent sound (A), alternate upgrade over LB-0171 which sounds harsh an narrow compared to this; drop/cut between cdrs
related note for LB-11643: in 4-way comparison LB-0256 had warmest fullest sound with strong bass; this was next warmest but most distant and not as full or upfront as panasonic wm61 LB-8858; cc LB-0835 was least warm; (did not listen to all of this)

DVD PROCESSING:
Audio and video assets edited in iMovie 6.0.3; authored, multiplexed and burned to VIDEO_TS folder in iDVD 7.1.2 (Professional Quality 2-pass variable bit rate encoding)

IMPROVEMENTS OVER D244.m:
-cuts & obstructed parts filled with clips from D555.su
-sound upgraded
-different title and track menus

PERFORMANCE/HIGHLIGHTS/SPECIAL MOMENTS:
-magnificent performance, especially “If You See Her, Say Hello” (first acoustic
performance of that song since Tallahassee, Florida, 27 April 1976) (lyric changes
delight audience; Campbell’s fiddle outstanding)
-setlist heavy on older songs (ten from the 60s); four from “Love & Theft” with “Cry A
While” the standout)
-harp tender on “Mama You Been On My Mind,” biting on “The Wicked Messenger”
-scintillating leads by Campbell & Sexton
-chilling backup vocals by Campbell & Sexton

DISTANCE/POSITION:
MS-107: 8-15 Left balcony 50˙(unfortunate spot behind balcony rail, but filmer managed to capture Dylan and Campbell by zooming in above rail; Sexton & Garnier seen less, Recile rarely)
D555.su: 8-11 Left balcony 60˙ (farther to the left than MS-107 so partly obstructed by large speaker and cable wires)

AUDIO: 15 (superlative LB-0296) (some transitions cut presumably to save space on CD)

STEADINESS:
MS-107: 10 (filmer had trouble staying steady on the vertical plane)
D555.su: 11 (steadier than MS-107)

HEADS/OBSTRUCTIONS:
MS-107: 10 (rail required zooming in)
D555.su: 11 (far left position partly obstructed by large speaker and cables)

FOCUS:
MS-107: 12 (good color and adequate light; focus a bit grainy, especially on closeups)
D555.su: 11 (better than MS-107, but conversion to widescreen resulted in slightly elongated image)

EDITING: cuts and obstructed parts filled w/D555.su clips; video cut at times for a/v sync
