COOPS2009 NOTES FOR MS-238:
I'm back with a true curiosity. Yes its a black and white video! But it is off master. This was a very exclusive show before an invited only audience so an audience film is pretty surprising. There was apparently little light so the camera was set to "night mode" which allows low light filming at the cost of colour. Its not a bad film shot pretty close but with little zoom I fear. At times the night mode causes some bleaching of faces but its worth a look. Its one I never expected to see I must say.

LB NOTES FOR LB-1574:
version "a"; alternate, upgrade,; No source/lineage information, Fingerprints: On Lay, Lady, Lady - Disc 1 track 2. A man says something at 0:19 and 0:21 -, I can't understand it, but it's a very distinct word or couple of words (louder in left channel), as Dylan sings "my big brass bed"; at 0:34, a higher-pitched voice says "wah-ho man", (maybe louder in right channel), after Dylan sings "my big brass bed" for the second time., To be technical:, Received as audio vine; ripped each disc as single WAV file using EAC, Cut into individual WAV files with EAC WAV editor, Encoded to SHN (with seek tables appended) with mkwACT; downloaded from a.b.m.s.d. 02/04; very good to excellent sound, better sound than previous version with less hiss, more warmth and not as harsh.

NOTE FOR LB-10539:
in 4-way comparison these are different recordings based on different crowd at end of d1t3 and beginning of d1t8; LB-1574 has fullest warmest sound, then this, then LB-1283, and then bootleg LB-6881.

DVD PRODUCTION PROCESS: Audio and video assets edited in iMovie 6.0.3; authored, multiplexed and burned to VIDEO_TS folder in iDVD 7.1.2 (Professional Quality 2-pass variable bit rate encoding)

-sound upgraded
-all on 1 DVD
-cuts filled with stills & movie clips
-different title and track menus

PERFORMANCE/HIGHLIGHTS/SPECIAL MOMENTS:

-enthusiastic audience seated at tables (some women seem to realize the show is being
filmed because they look back and one waves during the break)
-plenty harp, sometimes mean, sometimes tender
-the rockers are particularly good
-a tender “Mr. Tambourine Man,” like the other 1995 performances

DISTANCE/POSITION: 8 (shot from left floor 20˙) (fixed position perhaps from a table top; all players seen; no close-up zooming and very little panning)

AUDIO: 14 (excellent LB-1574; LB rates it A-, but it seems more like an A, if not A+)

STEADINESS: 12 (mostly steady)

HEADS/OBSTRUCTIONS: 12 (unobstructed except when audience stands to applaud)

FOCUS: 6 (shot in black & white as explained below in COOPS2009 notes; faces not well-defined)
