I don't normally review disks that I've authored myself, but, in light of babblings thoughtful review and generous freebie offer, there are a few details I'd like to mention.

First, the video begins with a promotional ad that ran on Ames, Iowa television. This is a neatly edited series of audio and video clips and is mildly amusing if not downright hilarious. I've used the ad for the title menu and have given it its own chapter.

The ad also serves to verify that my source, a first or, at worst, a very good second generation tape, is the same as the unauthored disk that is listed here at DVDylan as D169. The rating given to the unauthored version (4/3/5/4/3) is lower than what I'd give this one, however. The camera angle is from the center left balcony, undoubtedly from a tripod, with a variety of zoom ins and outs that gives this video a more professional touch than your garden variety amateur shot. Thus, I'd assign a 5 for distance, a category that perhaps should be reflective more of agile camera work than brute closeness.

Both the sound and focus/light are at least 4s, and it seems to be a clear 5 for heads/obstructions, the only ones of which are what a person sitting in the first row of the balcony would see in front of the stage. There is some unsteadiness from time to time, however, so I might drop that category to a high 4, although that might be unreasonable given that this is an amateur shot.

Dylan introduces the band toward the end of Maggies' Farm, and he and the band continue to jam during and after the introductions. Very energetic and cool, indeed! So much so that I've given it its own chapter and used it for one of the sub menus.

Regarding completeness, the only cut is a very brief part, perhaps only a few seconds, of the opening instrumental of "In the Garden." Otherwise, the video appears to be glitch-free, running straight through from the introduction to Dylan's departure from the stage.

I authored it with Mac's iMovie/iDVD5 application using twirl and cube transitions as well as the "Projector" theme to create an old timey feel. The title menu and the three sub menus are "moving" menus with synchronized video and audio that are fun to watch in their own right.

Many thanks to babblings for bringing my attention to this neglected gem, and best of luck to anyone whose bid is in the hat.

Watched this one this afternoon and i loved it
Not the best visually
Not the best sound wise but as regards the energy from Mr D and the band you would have to go a long way to better it.
This one deserves, IMHO, some clever soul to some artwork, add chapters and menu to it, maybe even a sound upgrade, if ones available.
It's a little bit choppy in places but overall steady, close and very nicely done.
Will offer a freebie on mail board but if someone fancies doing some work on the copy i have i would gladly post a one to you
