DISC D116
SOUND Okay but thin
IMAGE The camera’s in competent hands tonight and its operator deserves much praise. His left-sided balcony situation gives him a nice half-right profile shot of D. View is mostly unobstructed (some of Tom Thumb is lost to a pesky head, then much of RDW when everybody stands). The taper too has to stand in order to film Wind, which he manages to do with minimal shakes. Otherwise steady and well-framed throughout. Image is reasonably sharp, well-lit, nicely coloured. Lens is also pleasingly active, such that, while Bob naturally claims the lion's share of attention, the other band members all get some screen-time too.
RUNNING TIME 102 minutes
PERFORMANCE D’s in sprightly, upbeat mood and voice to match. Fine.
HIGHLIGHTS (1) Tomorrow’s A Long Time (2) powerhouse H61 (3) lovely extended It Ain’t Me, Babe.
COMMENT Very watchable film of a very listenable show, but two downers: (a) sound falls well below the impressively high standard of the very best discs and (b) absence, on my copy at least, of menu/chapters, making selective revisiting of the best tracks not easily possible. Thus, as with D259, if you want to trade for this, make sure the copy you source* is properly authored.
GRATEFUL THANKS G

A killer show that I was fortunate enough to attend. Bob seems to be in good spirits and sounds great. The band really gets going on some of the up-tempo tunes and Bob is right there getting down & dirty with 'em. Nice to see him playing so much lead guitar too!
Essential.

Pure magic here. Dylan (with unusually combed hair)performs an unbelivably intense show full of wonder and lust. The rather stable camera (standing on a balcony somewhat left to the stage) focusses on Dylan (from head to feet mostly), but without forgetting about his four gunmen. A show that definitely gets one pulses beating faster, featuring a pounding "Million Miles", a yearning and majestic "I´m Not Supposed to Care" (worth the DVD alone), a highly successful "Every Grain of Sand" and one killer of "Highway 61" that gets you dancing around your living room.

Six out of five stars from me.
