This is a third camera source of an excellent concert. Two of those sources, both shot from the left balcony, were used for D288.suu. This shot is from the right balcony and is a bit inferior to the other two in terms of distance and resolution, but almost completely unobstructed. The sound track is the same excellent Schubert recording that was used for D288.suu. Because the first song is missing and the second and seventh songs have missing or obstructed parts, D288.suu was used for fill.

Fortunately, "Highlands" and the entire Dylan/Simon set are intact. Dylan performed "Highlands" four times in 1999. This is the second of those performances and the first to be filmed. He delivers with excellent phrasing that brings out the sly humor of the opus. His duets with Simon are also well-performed, with Paul's voice prominent on all songs except for "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," where Dylan takes his turns on the verses.

The New York City audience is quite appreciative, raising a cheer at the "10,000 people, maybe more" line in "The Sound Of Silence." Of course, Bob and Paul got their starts in the coffee houses of Greenwich Village, a fact that Dylan alludes to in his introduction of Simon.

While not as good as D288.suu, I expect that folks will enjoy this DVD. So, let's give it:
