SENSATIONAL STUFF

Don't let the screenshots fool you. This is an extremely enjoyable DVD.
SOUND: Top Notch. PICTURE QUALITY: Very decent.
PERFORMANCE: Hot stuff.

This is one the best if not the best unofficial 80's Dylan video I have seen so far. Highly recommended. Almost deserves 5 stars!

D065.suu BERKELEY 10 JUNE 1988

This disc and D065.su run the same length of time and feature the same video footage. They feature the same audio track too, with the same static problems during Eden and with GE and NY (especially) still down in the mix. This second time around, though, the tape (differently loaded perhaps?) has more dynamic presence, rendering this trip back through the scurrying years a tasty treat. (It may be just me, but I thought the Young-free first electric and acoustic sets preferable to the remainder during which his addition to the band distracted in excess of its worth - see D065.su review.) And finally, another small reminder of why listening to Bob - any Bob - can be such fun. At Sacramento the previous night (D697.su) in Released we heard They say that every man must ball (!) and tonight's River Flow has a similarly impish People disappearing everywhere you look make you wanna stop and ... What? Spin it yourself and see. (And, while you're at it, try guessing, too, the identity of D's "special guest announcer"!! Sounds a rascally sort of cove to me.)

If you already have D065.su, you might want to think twice before bothering with this one too, because the difference, finally, is slight. If, however, you have neither, then D065.suu is the one to go for. And if you're torn between D697.su from the night before and either D065 upgrade, the choice is far easier, for Berkeley, despite its faults, is the better show by some distance.
